New episode of Gravity Falls this Friday! Check-It-Out!
Wow! I can’t believe it. After nearly two years working on “Gravity Falls” it’s hard to believe I’m almost done. Thursday is my last day here on the show and I can honestly say is that it’s been a great journey. I couldn’t be more proud of how the show has turned out. When starting on the show in 2010, I had no idea how what the end product would be like. All I could hope for is that with a bunch of friends working together, we would at least have fun making it, and we did. On my first day, Alex made a sign on the back of a piece of paper with a chewed up sharpie that read “working on fun sh*t with friends”. Despite all the hard deadlines, an ever growing/changing list of things to do, and the drama that goes with it, I feel like we really did do just what that sign read. While I’m so proud of the product we’ve made, I’m even more proud of the crew that has made it. They’re A+ artists and A++ friends. They all made the show what it is and it’s been terrific working with everyone. I will miss working with this great crew.
It’s bitter sweet leaving the show, but I can’t wait to start on my next adventure. I’ll be the Lead Character Designer for Craig McCracken’s new show called “Wander Over Yonder” coming soon to Disney TV. So I demand you to check it out next year :) It’s going to be a fantastic show!
And to all the fans of Gravity Falls, thank you so much for watching the show and liking what we’ve done! We’ve had fun making it and I’m glad you all have fun watching it :) Your overwhelming response truly means a lot to us. ( And just so you fans know, the show is not ending. The season is just wrapping up production ) So stay tuned watching the show. There are A LOT of exciting things to come!

LONG LIVE HAND DRAWN ANIMATION! I’m so happy to share these with you. These are some amazing keys and breakdowns from a shot for the “Gravity Falls” intro that were not done by myself, but completely captures the spirit of Dipper and our design. Traditional Animation lives!

Here are some model sheets I made for our board artists in the style of TV shows of past. I’m a huge fan for all OG model sheets and just had to satisfy my inner nerd. The Dipper page is a mixture of Phil Rynda’s drawings along with mine.
